WebShop studies measure the online visitor experience through the eyes of actual shoppers - drawn from Opinium’s own consumer panel – everything from first impressions to product search and the online buying process. End-to-end WebShop studies involve mystery shoppers making an actual purchase and contacting customer services by phone and email.

The results, particularly when benchmarked against competitor sites, provide powerful insight into consumer likes and dislikes and into what might encourage them to return or make a purchase.

Webshop studies are available on a custom or syndicated basis. Custom studies enable you to tailor a survey to your particular needs, select the websites to be evaluated and the socio-demographic profiles of the shoppers to be used.

Syndicated studies are run regularly across 30+ categories, allowing you to benchmark your site against pre-selected competitors. For each survey, 500 shoppers evaluate up to 10 websites (50 shoppers per site) on a range of 50+ KPIs, using a category-specific research or shopping scenario and performing a number of specified tasks. In addition to supplying ‘hard’ scores, each respondent provides vital anecdotal feedback about what they like or loathe about different website features and how their experience might be improved.

Results are presented as a PowerPoint presentation with site-by-site scores and screen shots. A full Excel data file is also supplied, including verbatims.
