Tech dominates Black Friday in the West Midlands

Our research, commissioned by PwC, revealed that tech and electrical products are by far the most in demand items over the Black Friday weekend, with 37% of West Midlands sale shoppers saying they will spend most of their money on these items.

The sales days around this time of year appeal most to the younger generation, with seven in ten (70%) shoppers under 25 years of age being interested in the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

Unsurprisingly, Londoners expect to spend the most money, with the average Londoner intending to spend almost £300. Contrastingly, shoppers in the West Midlands will spend less than £180.

The majority (82%) of Black Friday spending will be done online or by mobile, with a mere 18% of purchases being made in a physical store.
